ABOUT HIM

Ashley Adolphe is a clinical psychologist who values providing a safe, collaborative space in which clients can freely discuss the challenges they are facing and develop practical, effective strategies to improve their wellbeing in both the short and long term. He has particular interest in working with clients to manage mood and anxiety disorders, adult ADHD and autism, sleep issues, interpersonal and relationship challenges, complex trauma, grief and loss, substance and behavioural addictions such as gambling, perfectionism, and men's mental health. He has gained diverse clinical experience working in settings including private practice, telehealth clinics, community-based disability services, and charities and non-profit organisations, providing therapy in both one-on-one and group formats.

Ashley has gained diverse clinical experience working in settings including private practice, telehealth clinics, community-based disability services, and charities and non-profit organisations, providing therapy in both one-on-one and group formats. He has experience working with adults across the lifespan, from varied cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and LGBTQI+, trans-identifying and gender diverse peoples. It is through this range of experience that Ashley appreciates the importance of understanding and learning from clients’ lived experiences to provide the highest quality of care. 

In addition to private practice, Ashley works at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research, a research and treatment clinic that provides cutting-edge, evidence-based treatment for those affected by sleep and breathing disorders. He also has experience in clinical research, having published papers on gambling disorder and comorbid social anxiety and substance use in peer-reviewed journals. The thesis for his master's degree of clinical psychology involved the development of a group therapy program for comorbid social anxiety and substance use. This research has informed Ashley’s use of integrative treatments and focus upon helping clients to understand and systematically address the full range of factors which may contribute to their difficulties. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Ashley holds a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from the University of Sydney and a Master of Clinical Psychology from the Australian College of Applied Professions. He has full registration and endorsement as a clinical psychologist (PSY0002179719). Ashley is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).

HIS APPROACH

Ashley focuses on delivering best-practice, evidence-based therapies in a warm, collaborative environment. He has a calm and non-judgmental manner which helps clients feel able to share their experiences and difficulties and begin to work on effective solutions. Ashley draws on therapeutic modalities that are based on established psychological theories and supported by scientific evidence. He flexibly uses these treatments to closely address his clients’ individual needs.
