Bryan Neo

ABOUT HIM

Dr Bryan Neo is a clinical psychologist who values working collaboratively with adult clients, including the LGBTQIA+ community. He offers evidence-based assessment and treatment for anxiety, stress, depression, interpersonal and relationship difficulties, perfectionism, adjusting to life stressors, and men's mental health, amongst other issues. In addition, he has experience conducting psychological assessments using the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI). 

Bryan is experienced in providing treatment and support for a range of mental health difficulties, including:

  • Worry and generalised anxiety

  • Social anxiety

  • Health or illness anxiety

  • Panic disorder and panic attacks

  • Low mood and depression

  • Men's mental health

  • Stress (work-related, burnout, imposter syndrome, life transitions, parenting)

Bryan draws from a range of experiences to inform his clinical practice. He has worked with families at the UNSW Parent-Child Research Clinic, adults with comorbid medical and psychological disorders at the NSW Department of Health, and justice-involved adolescents and adults at the NSW Department of Communities and Justice. He has also worked as a psychologist in Singapore. He draws on his scientific research training to ensure that clients receive high-quality clinical assessments to inform treatment planning. He has conducted research with children, adolescents, and adults to improve clinical assessment procedures. In addition, he has taught several university psychology courses as a lecturer, head tutor, and tutor.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bryan is a clinical psychologist (PSY0002096666) registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). He was awarded Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Master of Psychology (Clinical) degrees from the University of New South Wales. He was also awarded a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) with First Class Honours from the Australian National University. He received both the Australian Psychological Society Prize and the Honours Psychology Thesis Prize for his academic excellence.

Bryan aims to provide a warm and supportive environment for his clients to have meaningful reflections about life’s concerns, while providing them with practical skills and strategies to manage their difficulties. His clinical approach is tailored to meet the needs of each client.

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

  • Schema Therapy 

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
